Get Fit Friday

I am nearing the end of Week #6 of P90X.  It's hard to believe I've been doing this for 6 weeks now & if I remember correctly, I am about halfway done.  Crazy.

This week was my second week of Phase 2 of the program.  Still following the same schedule as last week.  Chest shoulders & triceps were still really hard this week, but the workout went much better than last week's one, so that is good.

Here are my pictures from this week.  I was going to take full body shots like I mentioned in last week's post, but Marc said I should just keep it the same since I've been doing close ups all along.  So I guess I will just continue with the close up shots.

I don't know about you, but I'm not really seeing much of a difference between this week, last week, and the week before.

But I will say that I am definitely getting stronger, so that is good.

And like Marc said, I don't have a ton to lose (mostly I just need to tone up), so my results may not seem as noticeable compared to those who have a lot of weight to lose.

So, as long as I feel more comfortable about my body & am able to wear a bikini for Punta Cana in June (which is my goal), I will be thrilled!  Even if I'm not seeing huge results week to week.

This week I started Shakeology.  Marc has been drinking it for the past couple of months & has nothing but good things to say about it, so I thought I'd give it a try.

This patent-pending daily nutritional shake helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of the essential nutrients you need. A proprietary blend of digestive enzymes and prebiotics helps your body progressively eliminate the toxins that build up over time from eating today's highly processed foods.

At the same time, whole-food ingredients deliver the essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to curb cravings, allowing your body to shed stored fat while the more than 20 different antioxidants and phytonutrients help reduce free radical damage that can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, high blood pressure, and stroke.

The above was taken from the Shakeology website.  Marc says he can definitely tell a difference in his body & how he feels from before he started drinking these shakes, & really does feel like they are improving his overall health.

He has been drinking the Chocolate one but I decided to try the Greenberry shake.

I will be honest & say that I am not a fan of this flavor.  I added milk, frozen strawberries & blueberries to the mix, and was a expecting a nice, fruit smoothie.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.  I cannot even describe the flavor, except that it was gross.

So this morning I tried Marc's Chocolate mix & it was much, much better!

It was very chocolately & tasted just like a chocolate shake to me.  And I could not taste any 'healthy' aftertaste like in the Greenberry one.  Marc was nice enough to take one for the team and is going to finish off the Greenberry one so that I can drink the yummier Chocolate one.  Thank you, babe!  I owe you BIG TIME!!!

Eating has not been the best this week because of this darn Easter candy in the house.  Ugh.  I think I just need to throw it away so I am not tempted anymore, because I definitely do not have the willpower to just not eat it.  Sweets are definitely my downfall.

Other than that, another week of P90X is just about done & on Monday I will start Week #7.

And, only 65 days until Punta Cana!!!

  1. You look so great, I'm loving seeing your progress pics. I LOVE shakeology, I drink the chocolate one daily with one full banana, 1 cup of milk and 2 ice cubes. Can't wait to see more next Friday, you are doing awesome Jessica.

    Hugs,
