TGIF! So happy to see that Friday has arrived! It's been a busy week, yet I haven't had a chance to blog about it because I've been sharing our birthday extravaganza here, here & here.
So, let me share some fun things we did This Week!
This Week...Ashby had her 3-year well child visit. She was a rockstar! Being chatty Cathy with the doctor & nurses, rocking it on the development evaluation (she scored at 3 years 10 months in some areas!), and didn't even cry when she got her shots. She just looked at the nurse & said 'Ouch!'. Such a difference to how big sister reacts at the doctor's office. The nurse was so impressed that she gave her a Hershey kiss for being so brave. Baby girl is still a peanut. She weighed in at 24 3/4 pounds (5th percentile) & was 36 1/4" tall (25th percentile). Petite just like Kennedy!
This Week...I made some delicious meals from the January/February issue of Cooking Light. Some months I do not find anything that looks good to make, but this month I found a bunch of yummy recipes. This week we've had Shrimp with Lemon-Saffron Rice, Chicken with Pepperoni-Marinara Sauce, and Szechuan Chicken Stir Fry. All were really good, but last nights stir fry was amazing! I will definitely be making this one again! Tonight we are going to try the Polynesian Meatballs. This isn't a recipe from the magazine, but rather from an advertisement in the magazine. You can find the recipe here.
This Week...Kennedy had a routine dentist appointment. This was the first time she was in the 'big kid' room (i.e. the main room where the non-criers go). Prior to that, she has been in a separate private room. She has made GREAT strides since her first visit at 2 years old. She got a wonderful report from the dentist. No sugar bugs (cavities) & her x-rays looked great! She still has a root fracture on her two front teeth from a bad fall last winter, but it doesn't seem to be causing any problems. The dentist said that the worst thing that will happen is that she will lose her two front teeth a bit earlier than normal. Overall, it was a great visit!
This Week...my good friend, Farrah, brought me beautiful roses. She felt bad that she had forgotten my birthday on Saturday & stopped by with a card and these pretty flowers. Totally unexpected & unnecessary, but what a sweet gesture.
This Week...the girls had a play date with one of Kennedy's friends at Jumping Jacks. I wasn't sure how Ashby would do (she is a bit shy in new situations) but she did great. Running around with Kennedy & her friend, loving playing with the older girls. And she even went on the super big slide that they had. I, unfortunately, forgot my camera but here is a picture that I got from the website. I was shocked & proud that she went down this all by herself. The girls had a great time & we cannot wait to go back there again.
This Week...I bought the girls the new Alvin & the Chipmunks CD. They loved the movie & have been asking for the soundtrack from it. It has been a huge hit...for both the girls & Mommy. And Daddy too! Marc & I were in the car by ourselves yesterday & were listening to it. Ha! What can I say, it's a great CD! The girls bebop to the music constantly, but there is this one song that Alvin raps to & they go crazy. We were waiting in the pickup line at school today & I just had to video Ashby rocking out to this song. Watch these dance moves! She gets them from her Daddy. :)
And there you have it. Our week in a nutshell.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

What a fun & busy week you've had.
ReplyDeleteGood job to Ashby for doing so good at the dr's. Kaylee is same weight & height, she's almost 3 too.
Your stir fry looks so good!
Have a great weekend!
OMG my 16 month old weighs more than your 3 year old! hahahaha :)
ReplyDeletePlaying blog catch up, and just had to say:
ReplyDelete1. Definitely going to have to print out those recipes.
2. That video of Ashby rockin' is just too cute! What a sweetie pie.
Hope you're having a great week and enjoying all that snow!
