Get Fit Friday


Week #9 of P90X is just about in the books!  

This week started phase 3 of the program.  It's hard to believe I'm already 3/4 of the way through the program!  Phase 3's workouts are divided into two different sets of workouts, with one set being weeks 9 & 11, and the other set weeks 10 & 12.

This week's workout was as follows:

Monday: Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X
Tuesday: Cardio X
Wednesday: Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X
Thursday: Yoga
Friday: Core Synergistics
Saturday: Kenpo X
Sunday: Rest or X Stretch

Just like the previous week, I switched out P90X cardio for Insanity workouts.  While they are getting slightly easier, they are still kicking my behind.  Talk about an awesome cardiovascular workout!





This week I really tried to focus on my diet.  Remember last week's post when I mentioned that being healthy is 70% diet & 30% exercise?  Well wouldn't you know that by focusing on eating more balanced & healthy this past week, I not only felt better but I've also noticed less bloat in the belly area too?  You'd think that since getting a degree in dietetics I would already know the basics about nutrition, huh?!  I guess 5+ years out of practice has made me forget some of the most important information!

Here is another smoothie recipe I got from Coach Lee at Scentsy Director Training last week.  I've posted another smoothie recipe with spinach in it before, but this one is super good too!  It's nice to change it up a bit & not drink the same smoothie day after day.  Adding the oatmeal was fun too.  I would have never thought to add it into a smoothie, but it was really good!

1 C blueberries
1 heaping TBSP vanilla protein
1 heaping TBSP strawberry Greek yogurt
1 banana
1/4 C oatmeal
1/2 C sugar free vanilla non dairy creamer
1/4 wedge pineapple
1/2 cup ice
handful spinach

And I'm still addicted to the Fage Greek Yogurt too.  This week I've been adding granola to it & it really is a filling breakfast that tides me over for hours.  That is something I have noticed.  I NEED a filling breakfast or else I ended up starving a couple of hours later, and usually end up snacking on junk.  Not good!

This next week I'm going to continue to focus on eating a healthy & clean diet.  And of course continue on the exercise plan.  I love the transformation that I'm starting to see!

Only 45 days until Punta Cana!!!
