Get Fit Friday

Week #1 of P90X is in the books & after tomorrow, Week #2 will be too!  10 more weeks to go!

This week went well.  Not as well as last week, but still pretty good.

One thing I've noticed this week is that I've been so tired.  I'm not sure if it was the time change last weekend, or the newness of the program wearing off, or possibly that I wasn't eating enough, but I definitely have felt more tired this week.

Before I go into details of the week, here are some comparison pictures.  Before--Week #1--Week #2.

I can definitely see more tone in my stomach!  And my love handles seem to be disappearing a bit.  Yay!

I mentioned last week that I wasn't getting enough vegetables in my diet.  Well, my friend suggested that I throw in a cup of raw broccoli into my fruit smoothie in the morning.  That 'it wouldn't taste like anything'.  Ha!  Yeah right!  It was so gritty & I kept getting bites of broccoli in my fruit smoothie.  No thank you!

So I decided to then try adding spinach into my smoothie.  Oh my, what  difference!  I cannot taste a thing, yet I am getting an addition serving of vegetables into my diet.  Here is the recipe in case anyone wants to try it:

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1 cup raw spinach

Approximate Calories: 285 calories

It is a perfect little breakfast smoothie to drink on the way to school each morning.

Marc also mentioned to me that the reason I may have been so tired was because I wasn't consuming enough calories.  So for a better part of the week, I wrote down everything that I ate to see where I was coming in calorie & protein wise.

They (P90X) recommend that I get about 1800 calories & 56-78 grams of protein a day.  During my food intake documentation, it appears that I almost always get my recommended protein but not always my calories.  And I'm still not consistently getting enough vegetables in my diet.  Must work on these things for next week!

The DVD's are going great, although, I will admit that I despise Yoga X!  It is an hour & a half long & is so boring!  Get me running or have me lift weight, but please no more Downward Dog, Reverse Warrior Pose, Warrior I. etc.  Ugh.  This video is by far my least favorite video.

But I will push through the pain & not so favorite videos, because this program is awesome & I really do see a transformation in my body & overall feel better, both inside & out!

And because I only have 94 days until the Dominican Republic!!!
