Creative Kids: Flower Power

Kennedy has been asking me incessantly over the past few weeks if we could plant our vegetable garden & flowers.  Unfortunately, the temps have been cooler than normal so I have been holding off on any planting until the weather warms up a bit.  So to appease her repeated requests, we made a trip to Lowe's over the weekend & let the girls pick out their own flower pots, seeds, & gardening tools to plant their very own flowers.

Unfortunately, we had to do our planting indoors as the weather was overcast & I was afraid it would start raining at any given moment.  But the girls didn't seem to mind.  The had their gloves & tools (and place mat per mama's request so the mess was easy to clean up), and were ready to get to work!

Marc did most all of the work, while I played picture lady.  I figured taking pictures was much less messy & I knew my Type A personality would get in the way & wouldn't let the girls just 'go at it' if I were in charge.  Here they are busy at work.

And here are the girls with their (almost) finished products!  Now we just wait for the flowers to start sprouting up, which by the way, Kennedy has already asked about billion times where the flowers are! It could be a long 7-10 days (how long the package says it takes)! :)

  1. It's good to see the gardening gene passed on :-)

One suggestion, germination will be much more successful if you can capture some warmth and light. If you have a light you can shine on the pots that would help.

    Good Luck!
