Rest In Peace, Gramps

It is with a very heavy heart that I write that Marc's grandpa passed away today.  While he has been ill with ALS for awhile now, he unknowingly fell & ended up with a skull fracture & brain bleed.  The risks of having surgery outweighed the benefits of it, so his wife & girls have been at his bedside this past week until he went peacefully to be with the Lord.

I feel awful that I cannot be there for Marc, his mom & their entire family.  Connie & her sisters are in AR, while Marc is in TX.  I am counting down the hours until I can be with Marc as he grieves for the loss of his beloved grandpa.

I told the girls today as soon as I learned of the devastating news.  We had been talking about it the past week or so, as his health deteriorated.  Kennedy at one point asked if he was going to go to heaven or hell.  We assured her that he would be going to heaven to be with Jesus, and she assured me that she would be too because she asked Jesus to be in her heart.  And that Ashby is as well as they prayed together during rest time one day.  I just love their love for Jesus!
