Making The Best Of It!

We're here!  We are officially in TEXAS!!

The girls & I flew out early Saturday morning & could not wait to finally meet up with Marc!

Our flight was on time & uneventful, and the girls were wonderful during the 3-hour flight.  This was my first time flying solo with them, and while I wasn't too nervous for the flight, you just never know what #2 has up her sleeve at any given moment.  Ha!  Luckily she & Kennedy were angels on the flight to Dallas.

As soon as we arrived, we went & showed the girls the house.  They loved finding their rooms and running throughout the house.  And we laughed when they came to us 'lost' & looking for their room, the bathroom, each other, etc.  But I promise you, it's not that big!

When we left the drivers on Tuesday night, they assured us that they should be in TX by Sunday or Monday.  A quick stop in LA for our truck mates small load, and they would be on their way.  We were excited knowing we only had a couple of days of hotel living before the moving truck arrived & we were able to move into the house!

Or so we thought....

Last night we finally heard from the drivers.  They were still in LA. Apparently they underestimated the load size of our truck mate, and they couldn't get everything in. The drivers had to wait for the warehouse to open on Monday to get whatever they needed to get everything loaded. Our driver, Alex, told Marc that they weren't going to be here until Thursday. The day Marc needs to leave for his Grandpa's funeral. Ugh!

To say I was upset, is an understatement. I may have ranted to Marc & to my friends on Facebook.  I know eating crap, living in a hotel for another 3 days, and getting everything unloaded/unpacked by myself isn't the end of the world, but when we got the news that this was the case, it seemed like the end of the world.

This morning, I quickly adjusted my attitude, realized there was nothing we could do about it, and was going to try to make the best of it.  So the girls & I had a pool party in our hotel pool.

And then we went to our new house, and had a picnic lunch in my bedroom, while the blind people & security people did some work.  Oh, and I got to do some laundry in our new washer & dryer.  I know it doesn't sound too exciting, but it definitely put me in my 'happy' place!

And of course these girls always know how to put a smile on my face & make me laugh!  Love them!

And wouldn't you know it, Alex called Marc this afternoon & said they would be here TOMORROW between 9 and 11?!  All of that stress & frustration for nothing!  Rumor has it our truck mate was even more annoyed than we were about the delay, so I'm guessing our awesome drivers drove day & night to speed up the delivery process.

So, it looks like tomorrow is MOVE IN day!!!  Yay!!!
