Goodbye, Washington!

Please excuse my l-o-n-g blog absence.  After our 4th of July trip to my parent's house, I came home & immediately left again.  This time to Indianapolis for the Scentsy convention.  It was a great time & I was inspired & motivated to soar my Scentsy Family business & team to the next level!  I cannot wait to share what I learned while I was there, along with some sneak peeks into the new Fall/Winter catalog, but that will have to wait a bit.  Because as soon as I came home from convention, it was time to MOVE!!!

I cannot believe how this move has snuck up on us!  I feel like we just went house hunting!  And now, all of a sudden, it is time to get packed up & move!

Last Sunday, the day after I got back from convention, we met my parents in Portland so they could take the girls home for a few days for some special Grammy & Papa time.  And to not have them go through the whole moving process.  We felt that watching everything being packed up & loaded into the van would be a bit too much for them.

After what these past few days have entailed, it was definitely the right decision.  Plus, the girls had a blast with Grammy & Papa and got thoroughly spoiled by them!

Monday the packers came & I was impressed at how fast they worked!  They came at 10:00 am & were finished packing up the entire house by 6:00 pm!  And I recruited one of the packers to join my Scentsy team!  Who says you have to put your business on the back burner when you are in the mist of moving across country?!

Tuesday the movers came & packed everything up into the van.  It's amazing how much they can get into the van & how meticulous they are about packing it all in there.  There was definitely no empty spaces, and we quickly realized we have A LOT of stuff!!!

Funny story.  During the moving process, one of the movers found $100 underneath our mattress.  Say what?!  Marc & I were thoroughly confused as to why there was money underneath our mattress.  Ha!  And we were very impressed that the man gave it back to Marc.  Others have mentioned that maybe he thought we were 'testing' him to see what he would do with it.  I can assure you we did NOT plant the money, but I sure do love honest people!  And I really love that we are $100 richer!

It was very emotional seeing the house empty out.  This is the only house that Ashby has ever known, and Kennedy was only a year and a half when we moved into it.  It has been a wonderful home for our little family!

Our beautiful home has provided us with 5 years of wonderful memories & it was very bittersweet as we drove away one last time.

Marc had to fly back to Dallas on Wednesday, the girls came back today, and my car gets picked up to be shipped tomorrow.  For the next couple of days, we will stay in Portland with Rachael and her family, and enjoy loving on these two adorable boys!

And on Saturday we will be in TX!  Crazy!!!
