Today was Sibling Day at Ashby's preschool, and she was so excited to take big sister to school with her! She even requested that they match, and chose what outfit they were going to wear.
Side note. I'm really going to be sad when the day comes that Kennedy refuses to match her little sister. I just love dressing them alike!
Kennedy was thrilled that she got to miss the first half of school today. School doesn't start until 9:15 am for Ashby, as opposed to 8:00 am for Kennedy, so she also loved sleeping in a bit this morning.
All throughout the morning, Ashby kept telling Kennedy what they were going to do at school. Sissy! We get to paint together! And play outside together! And do puzzles together!
And all Kennedy would say is 'I know.' And in an annoyed tone, I might add. Because, you know, a long long time ago she used to be in preschool. Like, last year. And she's much too old for those little kid activities now. Ha!
Finally after the fourth or fifth time, I sat her down & explained to her how excited Ashby was to take her to school, show her off, and share with her all of the fun things she gets to do while she is there. I told her I understood that she already knew these things because she used to go to Sparkleberrys, but to be excited for her sister & just respond with Cool! or Awesome!
So that is what she did for the remainder of the morning. The only words that came out of her mouth were those two little words every time Ashby shared with her what they were going to do at school today. Unfortunately, they didn't sound too sincere when she said them, but Ashby didn't seem to notice so I just went with it.
The girls had a wonderful morning together at school & Kennedy loved seeing all of her old teachers, and some kids that used to be in her class, who were there with her siblings. They brought home lots of art project & paintings they created, and talked about all of the fun things they did together.
Kennedy even said the morning at preschool was Awesome!
And this time...she meant it!!!

How fun for Ashby!
ReplyDeleteRaya is on an "I know" kick right now and says it CONSTANTLY (and with an annoyed tone lol)....I think it must be something they say at her preschool a lot---trying to one up eachother on what they know or something. We had to start doing timeouts when she says it because it made her sound so rude! Hopefully it's just a phase!!
