Daddy's Special Day!

I always feel bad for Marc on his birthday.  I feel like ever since Kennedy was born, his birthday, which is a day after her birthday, gets over looked.  He swears that he does not mind, which I know he is being totally honest when he says that, but I still feel bad for him.  I feel like we are partied out from Kennedy's birthday, that we can hardly muster up enough energy for his.

But every year, I do my best to make him feel extra special on his birthday.  And this year was no different.

Yesterday was Marc's 34th Birthday!  I'd like to say 'wow, he's getting old' but since I am older than he is (only by a couple of months, but still...), I really can't say much.  Except maybe, wow WE are getting old!  Ha!

Marc had already worked out & was hard at work by the time the girls got up.  But as soon as they came downstairs they gave their Daddy a big birthday kiss & hug, and gave them his birthday cards.  One that the girls picked out from the store & one that they made.  Oh, and Mama gave him a card too!

He had a business meeting to attend to as well as some work to get done, so we didn't see much of the birthday boy for the better half of the morning.  But once again, he received many wonderful birthday wishes from family & friends.  They sure do know how to make you feel extra special on your birthday! Love them all!

For awhile now, Marc has been dying to see 21 Jump Street.  Every time a commercial comes on for it, he hysterically laughs & mentions how he wants to see it.  I, personally, think those types of movies look super dumb, but because the birthday boy requested that he see it on his special day, I agreed to go with him.  We got the babysitter for a few hours & headed out for lunch & a movie.

I will have to say that the movie was not nearly has dumb as I thought it was going to be.  A lot of 'guy' humor but it was still pretty funny as well as a little lot of swear words (total over usage if you ask me, even hubby agreed), but overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie.  And what's not to like when you can stare at Channing Tatum all movie long?!

And Marc LOVED the movie, and really, that is all that matters.  Right?!  Channing Tatum was just an added bonus. :)

We came home to two very excited girls.  We were going to celebrate at Red Robin that night for dinner, however, the entire day it poured (think 3-4" of rain), so Marc decided we should just stay in & we ordered pizza for dinner.  And for dessert #1 (yes, we had more than one dessert that night) we ate a little birthday cake that our babysitter got for Kennedy for her birthday.

And then Kennedy wanted in on the action since she didn't get to blow out candles on her birthday, though we did sing Happy Birthday to her at Cold Stone the night before.  So we sang the birthday song a second time & let her blow out her own candle too.

Dessert #2 came when the girls went to bed.  I headed back out to Cold Stone to get us our own special treat.  No sharing this time around!  We got to enjoy our delicious ice cream dessert all by ourselves!  Ha!

After a little ice cream treat & watching part of a basketball game, Marc called it a night & his birthday came to an end.

I think and hope he had a great birthday & that we all made him feel as special as he truly is to us!

  2. We needed the visual transport to your family and happy events. Everyone looks so happy and vital; you cannot imagine what a lift it gives us. We are struggling, but manage to find things to be thankful for each day.
