Getting Creative

Kennedy doesn't sleep anymore at rest time, though I do enforce quiet time from 1-3 pm every day.  I do not care what she does during those two hours, but she must stay upstairs and entertain herself quietly either in her room or the play room.

Baby girls needs a break & time to herself and so does mama!

A lot of days she plays with her Little People, princesses or trains.  I usually catch glimpses of conversations that she is having with Sarah and Maggie or Ariel & Cinderella.  It's pretty cute actually.

Today, though, she was doing something I've never seen before!  When I walked up to check on her, this is what I saw...

My big girl was happily sitting on her headboard working on a Valentine's project for school!

At first I was shocked & irritated.  She knows better than to sit on her furniture like that!  Two quick things went through my mind.  1) what she was doing was dangerous & she could fall & hurt herself, and 2) that furniture was expensive & she better not ruin it!

But then she gave me this cute smile, as if to say what's the matter mama?!  I'm having fun, keeping quiet & entertaining myself!

And my irritation quickly went away.  As I walked out of her room I thought to myself, wow that was pretty creative of her!  Using her headboard as her chair and the dresser as her table.  Smart thinking, baby girl!

I wonder what other creative things she does during rest time?!

Hope your are all having a wonderful Saturday!
