This week's challenge in the 52 Week Organized Home Challenge is Recycling.
I have to admit, this was was super easy. Like, took 2 minutes to take pictures, easy. We already have a systematic approach to recycling so I really didn't need to 'work' on anything to get it all organized.
We have two trash cans in our kitchen. One for garbage & one for recycling. All items that can be recycled go in the right garbage can, while all trash goes in the left garbage can.
The only thing that doesn't go in the recycling (or trash) can is glass. We have a separate container for glass items, so when we do have glass to recycle we just rinse it out, and stick it on the right side of the sink until we head out to the garage. In the garage, this is where we put all of our glass items & they get picked up once a month.
Once our recycling can inside gets full, we got out to our recycling bin & dump out everything. Our recycling center just has us put everything together (except glass) and then they must separate it out after it is collected. All I know is that our recycling goes in the green bin with the cream lid (versus our garbage which goes in the green bin with the green lid), and is picked up every other Friday. :)
And there you have it. Our simple & organized approach to recycling. Easy peasy!
