Day In The Life: Thursday

7:00 am: like clockwork, Kennedy gets up for the day.  She is such an early bird!  She plays Wii with Jared again & gets super excited that she ties him in a game of pick up basketball.  Jared, on the other hand does not like it very much.

7:15 am: Ashby starts calling for me.  I hurry up to get her because if I don't get up there fast enough, she just lets herself out of her room & comes downstairs.  We are trying to teach her that she needs to stay in her room until Mommy or Daddy come to get her.  If not, she likes to roam the house at 5 am!

7:30 am: breakfast time for the girls.  For some reason, the green cup is both their favorites & since there is only one of them, they like to fight over who gets it every morning.  So we instilled the 'you take turns getting the green cup' rule.  Today was Ashby's 'green day'.  And like most mornings, they have yogurt, milk & dry cereal.  'Daddy style' for Kennedy (peanut butter mixed with vanilla yogurt) & plain vanilla yogurt for Ashby.  Doesn't Daddy style sound so gross?!  Marc came up with this mixture a long time ago & ever since then Kennedy has been hooked.  Both Ashby & I have tried it and we are not a fan.  Yuck.

8:30 am: our babysitter, Jenny, comes over for a bit.  Since my Scentsy business has grown, it has turned into a part-time business.  For that, I am very thankful!  So I have her babysit a couple of times a week so that I can get work done, make Scentsy deliveries, make important phone calls, etc.  The girls LOVE Jenny & are always excited to have her babysit!

11:00 am: I take a break from working & help the girls make a gingerbread house.  I had bought a partially pre-assembled house at Walmart, and thought the girls would have fun decorating it & making it there own.  And that they did!

12:10 pm: time to take Kennedy to school.  Jenny stayed to watch Ashby so that I could get to the gym, make Scentsy deliveries & run a few errands.  It is so nice to be able to get these things done without little girls at my feet.  I can get them done MUCH faster!  Ha!

3:15 pm: Ashby is up from her nap & Kennedy is home from school.  I decide to try on the girls' Christmas outfits to make sure they fit.  Kennedy has a fit because I make her try on her tights.  She dislikes tights with a passion.  Most times if she has a skirt on I will let her wear leggings as she tolerates those better, but not with her Christmas outfit.  She does not like this.  At all.  She finally decides to stop crying & smile when I tell her we need to take a picture of Daddy to see her pretty dress.  She is such a Daddy's girl!

4:00 pm: cleaning & laundry time.  Is it just me, or does the laundry feel like it is never ending?  I finally get caught up on it & before I know it, there is another 2-3 loads to do.  I really could use a laundry fairy to take care of it all! :)

5:30 pm: dinner.  We eat the leftover ham & potato soup from Wednesday.

6:15 pm: bath & teeth brushing.

6:45 pm: we get done with our bedtime routine a little early so the girls play a little bit before Kennedy's bedtime.  They take out the Little People nativity scene, so I take the opportunity to do a biblical lesson with them.  We talk about the names of everybody & the story of how baby Jesus was born.

7:00 pm: bedtime for Kennedy.  Our neighbor friend, Casey, comes over to collect her mail that we were picking up while they were on vacation & we chat for a bit.  Daddy & Ashby play together.

8:00 pm: bedtime for Ashby.  Marc works out & I talk to my parents & sister.

9:00 pm: I head up to bed, watch TV & then lights out.
