Yesterday the girls & I headed to Target to waste some time get a few things while Marc watched football. Of course, we hit up the $1 spot section. While we were looking around, the girls saw this super cute Snowman & Penguin they had to have. I noticed it was actually an art project & thought it would be fun to do with the girls after rest time.
I saw that it said for ages 6+, but I figured that Kennedy would be OK with it & Ashby would just need a little help. After rest time, as promised, we got to work on their art projects.
And yes, Ashby chose to wear her devil ears while doing the art project. Quite fitting, don't you think?! Ha!
The project was a lot more complicated than I imagined. This is what was in the inside of each box. There were over 100 foam stickies on that white pad that had to be put on the plastic shell. Kennedy actually did quite well with it & did the majority of it herself. But Marc pretty much did all of Ashby's himself.
She helped a little, but was more interested in posing for the camera!
Almost an hour later the mosaic creatures were finished & I think they turned out quite cute! They were a lot more difficult (and time consuming) than I thought, but the girls had fun making them. Kennedy chose to put her penguin on her dresser in her bedroom, and Ashby keeps toting her towman around the house. Which means the poor towman's mouth keeps falling off. She isn't the gentlest little girl, so I have a feeling hers is not going to last very long. *Sigh*
