A Wonderful Weekend

What a great weekend!  Marc & I finally got to celebrate our anniversary (which was back in June) & have our Spa Day!  Remember when we were supposed to go in July?  Obviously that never happened.  Instead we got an even better gift, our nephew Greyson!  Who, by the way, I got to see while we were in Portland this past weekend.  He is getting so big...not to mention adorable!  I got feed him, and cuddle him, and love on him.  It was pure heaven!

The entire week leading up to our Spa Day, I kept praying that this weekend would still happen.  It didn't start out on a good note as both girls were sick with nasty colds.  Then Marc got a cold.  And then Ashby got a double ear infection.  Ugh.  I was going to be so upset if we had to cancel our weekend plans again.  But thankfully, everyone got healthy in time for our weekend away.  Yay!

Our sweet babysitter, Jenny, watched the girls while Marc & I were away.  I was a little nervous as I had never left the girls with anyone for an extended period of time besides my parents/in-laws.  Actually, I was only nervous about leaving Ashby.  She is quite the mama's girl so I wasn't sure how she'd do with me being gone for 24+ hours.  But according to Jenny she & Kennedy did great & were well behaved.  Something every parent loves to hear!

Marc & I went to The Allison Inn & Spa for our Spa Day!  We had gone last year too so we knew how wonderful it was going to be.  There, we enjoyed:

It was heavenly.  Such a relaxing day.  I told Marc I could get used to this & have a Spa Day every month.  If money only grew on trees.  Ha!

After our Spa Day we went to go visit my sister, brother-in-law & nephew.  It had been about 2 months since I had seen Greyson, and oh my, how he has grown!  He is about 9 pounds now & is so much more alert than he was back in August when I last saw him.  We had a great visit with them & I cannot wait to see them again at Thanksgiving!

And then on Saturday night we went out with someone Marc does business with & who he has become great friends with too.  He was excited for me to meet him & his wife.  They are such nice people & I am glad that I can finally put a name with a face, as I had heard many great things about them.  We went out for dinner & drinks and we had a great night!

Like clock work, Marc & I woke up a little before 7:00 am on Sunday.  Funny how our bodies get used to an early wake up time.  But I told Marc we were NOT getting up this early on a day we didn't have to, so we went back to sleep until almost 9:00 am!  Pure bliss!  After a yummy bagel breakfast (my request), we headed back home to our girls.

And wouldn't you know it, when we came through the front door, our girls weren't even phased we were home!  Jenny was like, 'girls, look who's home!'  They looked up from playing with their stickers, said 'hi' and then went back to their project with Jenny.  Ha!  I guess we could have stayed away longer!

Overall, it was a fabulous weekend with my awesome husband!  It was so nice to spend some quality, alone time with Marc, celebrate our (belated) anniversary, and get pampered.  I couldn't have asked for a better weekend & can't wait to do it again!
