And this...
I can't.
We never made it to any of these things. About 45 minutes from my sister Rachael's place, we got the dreaded call that she was being admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure & protein in her urine (she is 31 weeks pregnant). And since her & her husband were supposed to babysit our girls, there was no spa day or Kenny Chesney concert for Marc & me.
Yes, we are upset not to have a fun little weekend together. But not as upset as knowing that my little sister is in the hospital on bed rest, trying to keep her blood pressure under control, all while also trying to keep Baby Brown cooking at least a few more weeks. 31 weeks is still WAY too early for him/her to arrive!
As of Saturday night, Rachael's blood pressure was in better control. She had been transferred to a larger hospital to be near a high risk doctor & a Level 3 NICU. They had her on magnesium sulfate to prevent seizures (because of her high blood pressure) as well as an oral blood pressure medication. She also was given the first round of steroid shots to help the babies lungs mature faster. She was feeling pretty good but had a headache. The doctors are hoping to get her to 34 weeks. At 34 weeks, the doctor says that the baby is 'fully cooked' & it would be better to deliver than keep Rachael pregnant.
So that is the plan. If you wouldn't mind, would you please pray/send good thoughts for my sister Rachael, her husband Brian, and their little baby? This is their first baby & they are very scared & worried right now (understandable so). I pray that these next few weeks go as smooth as possible, and that Baby Brown arrives safely. And of course that my sister does not get any sicker & that her blood pressure remains stabilized. I love them so much & wish that they were not going through this right now.
We love you R, Brian & Baby B & are praying for the three of you!

Praying for your sister and your her little baby!!
