7 Things About Me:
1. I cannot stand the winters in Washington. I've lived here for 4 years now & each winter seems to just get harder, not easier. Day after day (after day, after day) of dark skies & dreary rain gets really old! From October until June (and July this year!) the weather is nasty & gross. Ugh. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm LOVING the summer right now, but I could really do without the long winters.
2. I am completely tone deaf & do not have rhythm. The girls have actually told me to stop singing before because 'daddy sings much better.' Ha! And I always hated going to school dances growing up for fear that I would have to get on the dance floor. And it continues to this day. Dance clubs are not my thing because I just can't dance! Maybe that is why I love the show So You Think You Can Dance. I can live vicariously through all of those awesome dancers & pretend that I can move like them!
3. Sometimes I wish that I had gone to college & earned a different degree. While I loved learning about nutrition & practicing at the VA in Las Vegas, I cannot stand what it has done to me in terms of germs, food safety, etc. I know way to much about food now & I feel like it has hampered my ability to enjoy food & the joy that comes with eating it. Ugh.
4. Along those same lines, I feel like the pregnancies with my two girls weren't enjoyed to the fullest because of my past history. I lost a baby boy at 27 weeks & feel like a lot of the joy & happiness was lost in my subsequent pregnancies because of this 3rd trimester loss. It is totally true when they say ignorance is bliss.
5. I met my hubby online through match.com. I moved to Las Vegas right after college to work for a year at a hospital to gain more experience as a dietitian, and then planned to move back closer to my family in the PNW. 9 months later we met, and the rest is history! I love that man more than anything in the world & thank God every day that he came into my life! And without him, I never would have had my 2 amazing little girls!
6. I became a stay-at-home mom after I had Kennedy back in 2007. I love staying at home with my two girls, but I will say that it is the hardest thing that I have ever done! In my opinion, staying home is much more stressful than when I was working full-time as a dietitian. All that said, I wouldn't trade it for the world!
7. I am not a huge fan of the baby stage. I really didn't like birth-3 months with either of my girls. I found that from 6 months--2 years old were by far my most favorite ages! They are/were so much fun during this time & I wish I could keep them this age forever! And I have to say ages 3-4 are not my favorite either. Ugh. The sassiness, talking back, & not listening thing that Kennedy is doing now is about to drive me bonkers! Anybody want to trade me for their 6 month old??!! :)
And there you have it, 7 things about me! Thanks again, Gina, for this award!

Congrats:)
