Boy Crazy!

Kennedy's preschool offers Summer camps during July & August for children entering into preschool, already in preschool, and those who will be starting kindergarten this Fall.  Children who attend are from the ages of 3-6.  The camp runs Monday-Thursday from 9:30am-12:30 pm.  They were offered twice in both July & August.  We chose to do one of the camps in July & one of the camps in August (this week actually).  She loves these camps & would prefer to go every.single.day of every.single.week if we allowed her to!  I hope her eagerness to learn & her love of school continues for many more years to come!

Carrying on...when she went to camp in July all she could talk about was this boy Tyler.  She told Marc & me that she played with Tyler every day, that he told her he liked her outfit on more than one occasion, and that she had a lot of fun with him.  I didn't think much of it, although I did think it was cute that she appeared to have a crush on this 'little' boy.  Well, on that last day of camp in July she told me that it was Tyler's birthday & that he brought cupcakes in for snack time.  To which I replied, 'Oh how old is Tyler?  Is he 5 today?'  To which Kennedy replied 'No, today Tyler turns 9!'

Um, excuse me??!!

Did I hear that correctly??!!

Your boy crush is 5 YEARS OLDER than you are??!!

After some intense questioning (like why in the heck is a 9-year old in a preschool summer camp??!!), I found out that Tyler is Teacher Jackie's son & that he comes in with her on the days that she teaches.  Well, okay then, that makes perfect sense!

But then all I could keep thinking about is how 'annoying' Kennedy probably was to this 9-year old boy.  We all know how outgoing & social she is, so I could only imagine that she followed this poor boy around camp every day, asking him to play with her & following him around like a puppy dog! 

So since that week of camp in July, all Kennedy has been talking about is going back to camp (this week) and seeing Tyler! 

This Monday rolled around & Kennedy COULD NOT wait to go back to camp!  And sure enough, guess who was there again??!!

TYLER!!!

And she continues to talk incessantly about him everyday after camp!  Today she said that Tyler read her a book & she played cars with him!  And that he has red hair & wears it in a mohawk.  Ha! 

Teacher Jackie walked Kennedy to the car today & after I told her the story about Kennedy's 'crush' on Tyler she laughed & said that a.) she does not annoy Tyler & that b.) Tyler thinks it is cute!  I was very happy to hear that she hasn't gone overboard & chased 9-year old Tyler far, far away!

But there are 2 things that I have learned about Kennedy!  At just 4-years old, she is...

BOY CRAZY!
