Can We Talk Reality Television?

Anybody close to me knows that I love any & all reality TV shows.  If it is on HGTV, Bravo, or E!, you can bet I'm watching it!  But I'm also a huge fan of reality TV on the 'main' channels too, like Amazing Race, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, The Biggest Loser, & So You Think You Can Dance.  My two ultimate favorites right now, though, are Dancing With The Stars & American Idol.  And since the finales for both of these shows are on this week, I thought I'd do a little recap on them & let you know who my favorites have been/are & who I think is going to win it all!

Dancing With The Stars--I have LOVED this season!  I thought there were so many talented dancers!  My favorites have been Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, and Hines Ward and Kym Johnson.  I was thrilled that they made it to the finals last night!  At the beginning of the season I really liked Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, but as the season went on, Kendra's whininess & constant excuses & 'talk back' when the judges were critiquing her seriously got on my nerves!

I thought last nights finale was great!  I just love Kirstie!  I was so proud of her last night!  That freestyle dance was awesome!  Doing lifts at 60??!!  Amazing!  Do I think she is going to win the competition?  No.  But her dancing has improved so much this season & I absolutely loved Maksim & her as a couple.  They had great chemistry.  She should be really proud of herself & how much she improved during the show.  And how about her weight loss during the season??!!  She looks fantastic!

Hines & Chelsea did amazing last night too!  Their dancing has been flawless week after week, and they did not disappoint for the finale either.  Their first round dances were both amazing, each scoring 29 points.  And their freestyle dances were the same.  Their routines were totally different from each other but both were awesome!  And again, they both got a perfect scores!  I have NO idea who is going to win that coveted mirror ball trophy tonight!

American Idol--I haven't been into the past couple of seasons.  No particular reason.  I think I was just over the whole show in general.  But then they got a couple of new judges, Jennifer Lopez & Steven Tyler, so I decided to give this season a try.  And I am so glad I did.  I LOVE Jennifer & Steven on the show!  They bring something fresh & exciting to the show & I have really enjoyed watching them.  Randy still bugs me, but 2 out 3 good judges ain't too shabby.

My favorites this season have been Lauren Alaina, Jacob Lusk, Pia Toscano & Scotty McCreery.  I was disappointed to see Pia go home so early.  I think she has an amazing voice & was shocked to see she got voted off so early.  Jacob has an amazing voice too but I feel like he is better suited for Broadway, so I can see why he got voted off.  And can I tell you how happy I was when Haley went home last week??!!  She was too big for her britches & became extremely cocky during the season.  I was relieved to not see her & her raspy voice make it to the finals.  But I was extremely happy to see Lauren & Scotty get to the finals!  They both have amazing voices & I would love it if either of them won.  But since I {heart} Scotty, and have since he first auditioned, I'm going to go with Scotty to win the whole thing!
