* Kennedy has been TERRIBLE lately about sharing her toys with Ashby. Like, she screams bloody murder at Ashby if she gets close to any of her beloved toys. And how does Ashby respond to Kennedy's unwillingness to share? By scratching her, pulling her hair, & putting her in a headlock. It is hard not to laugh as Ashby is just trying to show her frustration with Kennedy, and the only way she knows how to show her emotions right now is through being physical. I've been desperately trying to teach my girls to share with each other & use their words when they are upset and frustrated. But so far, it's not really working. *sigh*
* Potty training Ashby is practically non-existent at the moment. She now doesn't even want to go on her potty seat. I know she is ready, though, as she tells me before she goes poop in her diaper & then brings a clean diaper to me immediately after going so I can change her. Potty training boot camp will be starting next week when Kennedy gets done with school. I'm so over diapers!
* And because I am not above bribing, I bought her new Dora panties as an incentive to go pee & poop on the potty. And today I promised her 1 M&M for every time she goes on the potty. She LOVES sweets, so this little bribe has GOT to work! Right??!!
* I cannot believe Kennedy's last day of preschool is next Thursday. This year has flown by! She has developed so much in this past year & has learned so many wonderful things at Sparkleberry Preschool. She has learned how to write her name, spell words, & she even knows her numbers & colors in Spanish. I'm very impressed with everything she has learned. I love the teachers & am so glad she is going back there again next year.
* We are working on some home improvement projects at our house. Well not 'we' per se, but we are working with some wonderful companies & I cannot wait to share our completed projects with you when they are done. It is time to make our house more of a HOME!
* I am on DAY 5 of flying solo with the girls & I am sooo ready for a BREAK!!! T-24 hours & counting!
* Ashby is deathly afraid of bugs. Even if they aren't bugs & just look like them (i.e. dirt, tiny pieces of mulch), she freaks out & says 'Bug! Get off!' Yesterday we were in the car & she all of a sudden started crying & saying 'Bug! Get It Away!' I looked into the back seat & it was a gnat on the OUTSIDE of her window. Poor thing. I have no idea why she is all of a sudden so afraid of them.
* My laptop is giving me problems, yet again. We just had it worked on last month for crying out loud! It's been freezing, not opening pages, etc. I'm so over it. Right now, I'm using our old school desk top computer. It does the job but is like a billion years old & we need something new. I think a MAC will be our next purchase. I've heard nothing but good things about them from my Facebook friends. I'm just not ready to fork over all that money quite yet. They are so expensive!
* Weather forecast shows rain for the next 4 days. Ugh. I'm so over the rain & nasty weather. Come on Summer!!!
* Kennedy has started asking the uncomfortable questions. At Target the other day I was buying feminine products & she asked me what the pads were for. I stumbled around for a bit, not answering her. She followed up by asking if they were bandages for my knees & I quickly replied 'yep, sure are!'. I totally chickened out, but I'm so not ready for these types of questions!!!
