Gimme A Break

This week is Spring Break for Kennedy so that means no preschool, gymnastics, or swimming.  Add in the fact that Marc is traveling all week for work & it has been raining every.single.day, and that makes for one cranky mama.  I love my girls to death but I needed a break!  So I called our wonderful babysitter, Jennifer, and had her come watch the girls for a few hours.

Want to see how I spent those wonderful hours??!!

First, I headed here.

To read a few of my favorite magazines.

And work on Kennedy's thank you notes from her birthday.

Next, I stopped by the post office to buy some stamps to mail said thank you notes.

Then I stopped at a local bread store & enjoyed a delicious bowl of chicken noodle soup & some yummy bread.

Next, it was time to go grocery shopping.

And finally, a sweet treat!

And there you have it.  Three hours of pure bliss.  Three hours spent by myself, alone in my own thoughts, enjoying some quiet time.  A big thumbs up!

This may not be everyone's idea of good, quality alone time.  But for me, it was perfect!  I was able to accomplish things on my never ending to-do list, but at the same time I was able to enjoy some 'me' time.  And it gave me time to recharge my (mommy) batteries to get me through the rest of the week.  When I got home I was in a much better mood, felt more relaxed, and was ready to be a good mama again.

Girls, your happy mama is back!

  1. Invite me next time on your solo adventure...good bookstore, good food...doesn't get better than that! Glad you had some "me" time
