The Funny Things They Say

One thing I regret not doing when Kennedy was younger, was writing down all of the cute & funny things she would say.  For example, instead of saying triangle she used to say tria-hangle.  Unfortunately, since she has gotten older & is speaking more fluently, Marc & I cannot remember those cute words she used to mispronounce.  This time around with Ashby, I want to write down all of the funny words & phrases she says so that I can remember them in years to come.

Fortunately (for us), there are still a few words & phrases Kennedy mispronounces that I want to write down so that I can remember them in the future.  Here is the list:

* a little bittit--a cross between a little bit & a minute

* hand sitizer--hand sanitizer

* elegator--elevator

* 'quit tagonizing me'--said to Ashby when she wants her to stop antagonizing her

* 'Sid The Science Kid's friends are Gerald, May & Gariella'--that would be Gabriella

* 'you've got to stand up to do the job done right'--said to Marc when she wants him to stand up (instead of sitting on the couch) to shoot hoops.

* 'the balls are imaginating'--she likes to play Ball Bounce on her kid camera.  During the game the balls are bouncing up & down trying to hit blocks, and she always says the balls are 'imaginating'.

* 'that is NOT an option'--said in a very loud & serious tone when she doesn't agree with what Marc or I have told her to do (or not do).

Now that Ashby is talking more, her vocabulary is hilarious!  She does not say the letters 's' or 'f' very well, so a lot of words are misconstrued.  Here is some funny stuff she says:

* tennins--tennis shoes

* poop--soup

* cazzie--coffee

* foap--soap

* pazza--pizza

* pips--chips

* puddit--pudding

* blank--blanket

* punguns--penguins

* why why--Super Why!

* weeku--Leapster

* buddle cug--cuddle bug (cuddling)

* 'I Am!'--this is said whenever she also wants something.  For example, if we ask Kennedy if she wants another piece of bread, Ashby will shout out 'I am' instead of 'me too'.

I love hearing how both of the girls' vocabulary is expanding as they learn more & more words, but man, I wish they would keep some of these cute sayings & mispronounced words forever!  It just melts my heart whenever I hear the girls say them.

Oh, how I love these two little girls of mine!

  1. This is so sweet, and such a great idea to document these sayings & words. They will grow up so fast it'll be so nice to be able to reminisce!
