When The Cat's Away, The Mice Will Play!

In our house the cat is daddy, and the mice are mommy, Kennedy & Ashby. :)

Marc travels a lot for work. The girls actually get excited when he goes out of town because that means they get their 'favorite' dinner one night. They usually pick homemade pizza, chicken nuggets & macaroni and cheese, or breakfast for dinner. But on this particular night, dinner was extra special. They got to have something that they don't get to have very often. A very special treat...McDonald's!!! Or "Old McDonald's" as Kennedy likes to say & "Donald's" as Ashby likes to say.

And here they are eating their favorite meal--chicken nuggets, french fries, & apples. And don't forget the ketchup & sweet and sour sauce!

After dinner I decided to do another something special for the girls. Kennedy always asks to take a bath in our Roman tub. I rarely let them, though, because the tub is very big & this short mommy has a very hard time reaching in to bathe them. But tonight I surprised them & let them take a bath in the special tub! Kennedy was super excited. Ashby, not so much. She got very scared & would not get in. She reluctantly agreed to get in when I said I'd get in too. By 'get in', I mean sit on the edge & put my feet in.

But shortly after getting in, Ashby decided that bubble baths were just not cool & she wanted to get out NOW!

I do not think we will be doing any more special bubble baths in the near future. Kennedy said the bubbles were 'weird' and as you can see from the above picture, Ashby was not a fan at all.

We sure do miss daddy when is away on business. But boy is it fun to do these special activities with the girls. The excitement & smile on their faces makes for one happy mommy.
