We just had a wonderful long weekend with Grandma! I cannot say that we did anything over the top & super exciting, but it was so great to spend quality time with her and the girls loved their special time with her as well!
Grandma flew in on Friday afternoon & met us at the eye doctor where Ashby was getting her new glasses!
On Saturday, Ashby (and her preschool class) was invited to participate in the local Veteran's Day Parade, so we all went & enjoyed watching the floats & thanking the Veterans for their service & sacrifice.
The rest of the day we did our usual Saturday activities, swim lessons & church. And then we all went out & enjoyed a yummy Mexican dinner. Mama was lame & fell asleep with Ashby at 7:30 pm, but Daddy & Grandma watched some UNLV football that was on TV. Unfortunately it didn't end well & they lost. Boo.
Sunday, Grandma was ecstatic that her beloved Green Bay Packers were on TV, and Daddy & her watched that while I took Kennedy to a birthday party.
The party was at Painting with a Twist & was the first time that I had ever been there. The girls had a great time painting & I was super impressed with Kennedy's masterpiece! I think I see some art classes in her future! What a fun birthday party idea & it's one that I just may be stealing come March for Kennedy's 7th Birthday!
The rest of the day was spent working on homework (Kennedy), playing outside, and creating special memories with Grandma. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures besides Kennedy's homework assignment. This was what Daddy & Kennedy worked on. Her assignment was to disguise a turkey, and this is what they came up with! Impressive!
Monday came way to fast, and it was time for Grandma to fly back home. Our time together went way to quickly & we wish she could have stayed longer! Like I said, we didn't do anything over the top, but we had such a great visit with her! And we are already counting down the days until we get to see her again at Christmas!
Thank you for visiting, Grandma!!! We love you, miss you & cannot wait to see you next month!!!
