It's so weird to be posting only about once a week now. But since the girls are back at school, and are both going everyday, there really isn't too much to write about. I figure nobody wants to hear about cleaning the house, doing laundry, and finishing unpacking every day. Ha!
Speaking of unpacking, I am happy to say that we are about 95% done! The only room in the house that isn't quite finished is my new Scentsy headquarters.

There has been progress since this picture has been taken, but since we are not going to do built ins like we had in WA (at least not at the moment), I need to find alternate storing/filing/organizing options for all of my stuff. I think a trip to IKEA is in my near future!
The new Family Room furniture arrived yesterday, and we are loving it all! It definitely fills in the space nicely & we love not having to watch TV from the floor anymore (where our poor TV sat for the past 4 weeks). With this last room complete, minus the office, I think it may be time for a picture tour of our new home! I'm excited to show everyone our new place!
I have been working my tail off to get my Scentsy business up & running here in TX. It's been a lot of work, but I'm super excited to see my customer/host base grow, as well as my TX team grow in the days, weeks, & months to come! And last week, I was ecstatic to find out that I won Scentsy's Summer Incentive! An all expense paid trip to Cancun, Mexico for next year's Leadership Retreat! To say I was thrilled would be an understatement, and I definitely couldn't not have won this trip without the support of my customers, hosts & amazing team! Two FREE trips in 6 months?! Thank you Scentsy!!!
The girls continue to love school. And I love hearing all about their day, what they learned, and who they played with when they get in the car after school each day! It really is the highlight of my day!
This morning Kennedy wanted to make her friend, Rhett, a card as today was his birthday. As I got Ashby ready for school she got to work, and not long after brought me in his birthday card to take a look at.
While I loved what she wrote & the message, I encouraged her to go back & exchange the word handsome for nice. She protested as 'I really do think he is handsome!' I told her that even if she did think Rhett was cute, it probably wasn't best to use that word with her 1st grade friends, plus I told her that Daddy would have a fit if he read this! Ha! Marc & I are not ready for this (boy crazy) phase to start with either of the girls!!!
I am taking the girls to get assessed next week for swim lessons. While we have been thoroughly enjoying the community pool, and Ashby has been getting so much more comfortable in the water, we need to get them back in swim lessons & have them work on their strokes with a certified teacher.
Let's see. What else?! We are LOVING the sun & warm weather! Everybody we meet asks how we are tolerating the heat. Honestly, it has not been that bad. We've had a handful of 100+ days, but lately it has only been in the mid 90's & the weather has been quite enjoyable. And we, of course, have air conditioning to retreat to when it gets too unbearable. I will definitely take these couple of months of HOT weather, over the 9 months of rainy/dreary weather we had in WA.
It's hard to believe we have been in TX for one month! I guess it's true what they say...time flies when you are having fun! We are thankful to have moved to a great city, that Marc is enjoying his new job, that the girls are loving their new school, and that I am able to move my business to another state & continue to do what I love! Life is good great & we are so blessed!

Ha! I love her card hehe....too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe handsome part is great. Did she give him that card or did she make another one? Miss those girls!
ReplyDeleteI made her make another one. So he was 'kind, loving & nice!' I figured Marc (and her teacher) would like that a little better! Ha!
