Today was Kennedy's last day of school. How can that be?! I feel like my little girl just started Kindergarten!
And now today? She graduated from Kindergarten & is going to be a BIG First Grader!!!
And here's a side by side comparison. Wow! What a difference a year makes!
She had a great last day of school. They had chapel this morning, a fun field day, and then ended the day with a magician! Her teacher, Mrs. Moses, said Kennedy loved it & was really into all of the magic. Maybe we need to hit up the magic store this summer!!!
It was a very teary goodbye, for both Kennedy & me. Kennedy started tearing up as she said goodbye to Mrs. Moses & then the waterworks started. Hugging all of her friends, saying goodbye to her favorite teachers, all of the parents wishing us luck in TX. It was all just too much for my baby girl. It was all very emotional & we are really going to miss all of the amazing people we have met this past year at Community Christian Academy.
To help cheer her up, I took Kennedy (and Ashby) for an end of the year celebration. The girls have been impatiently waiting for the new Red Robin by our house to open up, and Monday was the grand opening. So I surprised the both of them with a trip to RR for lunch! They loved it & I loved seeing a smiles back on Kennedy's face.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing outside & up in the playroom. The bickering has already started, though, so I'm determined to keep them very busy this Summer & out of trouble! Ha!
Kennedy Rae has had an amazing school year & has grown so much, both academically & socially. She is wise beyond her years & is a very special young girl. Not just to us, but to so many people she comes in contact with. I have received so many compliments about our baby girl this past school year, and my hearts just swells with pride & happiness with each and every one that I hear. I know that she is going to do great things with her life & I am so blessed and honored to be her Mama (and I know that Marc feels the same way too).
Here's to an awesome Summer, a stress free move & to fun new adventures in Texas!!!
