Sister, Sister

I had the honor of seeing both of my sisters this past weekend!

My older sister, Sarah, lives in San Diego.  She was coming to Portland to meet her newest nephew & spend the weekend with Rachael.  They asked me awhile ago if I would come down too, but I already had a Women's Retreat scheduled, so I sadly said I wouldn't be able to make it.

But after realizing that a) it is not often that all three of us get to hang out together and b) I have not seen Sarah since last Summer, I quickly changed my mind.  My retreat ended at 4:00 pm on Saturday, so I was going to make the 2+ hour drive down there, and surprise her!

And surprise her, I did!  They were upstairs giving Greyson a bath, so Rachael just had me come through the garage & walk upstairs!

To say she was shocked was an understatement, and her reaction was priceless!

After getting Greyson to bed & Sterling settled with Brian, we headed out to dinner.  We went to this delicious Italian restaurant & just talked, and talked, and talked.  It was so nice, but made me wish that we all lived closer to each other so we could do this every weekend!

Unfortunately, Sterling was having a hard time settling down (got to love colic), so instead of grabbing dessert, we headed back to R's house.  And what do you know, rock star Brian had just gotten him settled & to sleep.  Go Brian, go!  We ended up staying in, eating all of Rachael's ice cream & continued to talk & watch TV into the night.  Nothing fancy, but it felt so good to spend quality time with my sisters!

The next morning was low key.  We played with Greyson & cuddled with sweet little Sterling.  It is hard to believe that little man will be 2 in just two short months!  Where has the time gone?!

And before we knew it, it was time for Sarah to get to the airport & me back on the road again.  It was way too short of a trip, but so great to spend time with my sisters!

Rachael & Sarah--it was so great to see the two of you, even if it was for a mere 15 hours.  Our time together was amazing & it makes me long for our days in Ballard when we lived in condos right next to each other.  We definitely did not take advantage of that awesome opportunity like we should have!  I miss the two of you already & am counting down the days until our July get together with ALL of our families!  Thank you for being the BEST sisters a girl could ask for!  I love you! xoxo
