We started the day with our optional activity through Scentsy. Upon choosing New York, we were able to sign up for one of five or six optional activities. We had originally signed up to tour Ellis Island, but unfortunately it is still closed from the horrible hurricane. So we were given another activity: Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station & Radio City Music Hall.
We had already walked through Grand Central Station earlier in the week, but it was great to hear some of the specifics about the station from our tour guide. Like that 70% of New Yorkers do not own a car, and that 700,000 people go through Grand Central Station a day.
Next, we headed to Rockefeller Center. We, again, had already walked around there the other day but it was nice to learn more about it from our tour guide. Like that the skating rink is open from October--April, and then the area transforms into an outdoor restaurant from May--September.

We spent the bulk of the tour at Radio City Music Hall. This is where a lot of famous musicians/bands have performed, awards shows have taken place, and most notably where the Rockettes perform.
The hall can hold up to 6,000 people, but what is amazing is that all of the seats can be taken out for basketball or hockey games, and many other special events. It is such a beautiful hall, and much of the interior is in its original state that has been restored (I believe in 1999).
We also learned more about the Rockettes, the history behind them, their outfits, requirements to be a Rockette (I do not fit any of the criteria), and we also got to speak with one...and take a picture with her!
It was such a great tour, and even though Marc & I had already seen a lot of these areas this week, it was great to go around with the tour guide & learn the specifics about these different locations & their historical highlights here in the city. Such a fun morning/afternoon!
Tonight, we went to an early dinner at Del Frisco's & then to a Broadway show!
Dinner was delicious & the desert was to die for. The coconut cream pie was out of this world! And The Book of Mormon was hilarious! A bit crude in some parts, but definitely entertaining & the singing/acting were amazing!
And when we got back to the hotel, we had another gift drop from Scentsy! Goodies for our Yankee game tomorrow night!
