Mickey's Toontown!

Wednesday morning we had every intention of getting the girls up early & heading to Cars Land in California Adventure to go on the new Radiator Springs ride right when they opened at 7:00 am.  But then Marc & I realized how crazy that was, getting the girls up & ready at 6:00 am, especially after staying up late many nights & no naps.  So we let the girls sleep in a bit & headed over to Cars Land around 8:30 am.

Unfortunately this new ride is crazy popular, and there was a 3-hour wait.  And the fast passes were for after 9:00 pm that night.  Um, no thanks.  So off Disneyland Park & Mickey's Toontown we went.

But not before spotting Mickey & Pluto and grabbing a picture with the two of them!

And posing for some other cute pictures.

And of course getting a customary family picture at the front entrance of the park.

The girls grabbed a map & led us where we needed to go!

On the way to Toontown, we decided to stop at It's a Small World in Fantasyland.  The girls really enjoyed this ride & Ashby enjoyed singing along to It's a Small World during the ride.

And as soon as we got off of the ride, we saw Merida from Brave, so we grabbed a picture with her & her three brothers/bears

After our slight detour, we were finally on our way to Toontown.  There the girls visited Mickey & Minnie Mouses's houses, rode on their first roller coaster & visited with Pluto!

And then this is when everyone hit a wall.  It was getting hot, the lines were ridiculously long & the girls were getting hungry & irritable.  We decided to head back to the hotel (thank goodness for staying onsite), eat lunch, and get the girls down for a nap.

Unfortunately a certain 6-year old wasn't too cooperative at nap time & woke up her tired & cranky sister.  But we powered through the crankiness & went back to the park for a little bit before meeting Marc's aunt & uncle for dinner.

It was in line waiting to meet Rapunzel, that Ashby was about to lose it.  The poor thing was hot, tired & cranky, and frankly was d-o-n-e with the whole Disneyland experience.  At this point I did what any desperate Mama would do.  I bribed her.  With a piece of gum.  Her first ever!  But only if she behaved & took a nice picture with Rapunzel.

Which she did!  And she thoroughly enjoyed that half a piece of gum!  And it was then & there I thought to myself, why the heck didn't I bribe her with this earlier?!  Ha!

Around this time, we made our way back to meet Marc's aunt & uncle for dinner.  But not before grabbing some Mickey balloons!

Dinner was delicious!  The girls were very well behaved, considering the long day they had & how late it was.  And Ashby was super proud of herself for not swallowing her gum.  Until the bread basket came around & she forgot it was still in her mouth.  Ha!

Both girls got balloon animals, or should I say a balloon skeleton for Kennedy & ladybug for Ashby, and dessert so all was well in their world again!  And it was a great way to end our last full day at Disneyland!
