On Monday I posted this on Facebook:
And wouldn't you know it, I went to bed looking at this out my window!
Not much, but it was something! And then when I got up early Tuesday morning, this is what I saw:
A little bit more! And apparently 2-3 inches of snow here in WA is a big deal, because both of the girls' schools were cancelled on Tuesday. I thought it was a little ridiculous with what little snow we had, but Marc did say the drive to work was not fun & that the roads were bad.
Tuesday was to be the girls' last day of school before winter break started. And with that meant Christmas caroling at a nursing home, Person of the Day & hot lunch for Kennedy, and a visit from Santa for Ashby. Both of the girls were a bit bummed to not be going to school, but were super excited to go out in the snow. And that we did!
Kennedy enjoyed trying to build her first snowman (you can see my awesome one in the background. Lol), and Ashby loved making snow angels. We spent a good hour out front playing in the snow & having a snowball fight with the little girl across the street. Super fun!
Unfortunately, today brought large quantities of rain so all of the snow has melted. But we are all hoping we get another one or two of snowstorms this winter! Preferably NOT like last winter when we lost power, but a good dumping of the good white stuff a couple more times this winter would be awesome!
Unfortunately, Ashby woke up this morning with a sore throat & quickly went downhill as the day progressed. Tonight she has lost most of her voice, her throat still hurts, and she has a 101 fever. I'm praying her illness doesn't turn into a sinus infection like Kennedy's did last week. My poor baby. Though I love the extra cuddling I get, I hate when my girls are sick. I hope she gets a good night sleep tonight & is feeling much better come morning!

Oh that pic of her snuggled up on the couch is so sweet!
