Day 14: I am thankful for my older sister, Sarah. Like with any sibling, we had our share of fights growing up (and pinching...oh how annoyed I got when she would pinch me!), but we definitely grew closer as we got older. I think a turning point was when we were in the same sorority together. Even though she is three years older than I am, she was protective of me & made sure that I was comfortable & taken care of, especially being away from home for the first time. I loved when we both lived in WA together, though we didn't see each other as much as we should have. And even though she & her family now live in San Diego, I love that she is only a phone call away. We are each other's sounding board, to support, encourage & be there for one another. I love her & am blessed that we are sisters.
Day 15: I am thankful for my little sister, Rachael. She is more than a sister to me. She is one of my best friends. Even though we are four years apart, we have always been close. When we were younger I'd bribe her & her friends to go around with me selling girl scout cookies, she would bribe me to play school with her (or did I bribe her to do that too?!). I was disappointed when she chose to go to a different college than Sarah & me, but looking back, I know it was the right thing for her to do & I am proud that she chose what was right for *her* and not just following in her two older sisters footsteps. I love that her & her family are only a couple hours away from us, and am fortunate that we can see each other regularly! I love her & am blessed to call her my sister & my friend.
Day 16: I am thankful for my nieces & nephews. It was my two sisters & me growing up. So when Sarah had her first child, Elleanor, it just seemed like a natural progression. We know girls. It's our thing. Then along came Ainsley, then my Kennedy, next was Emerson, then my Ashby, and finally Abigail! 6 girls! Perfect for our family of girls. My girls *love* playing with Sarah's girls & they get along so well. Well, we were thrilled when Rachael ended up having the FIRST boy of the family! But hello, we didn't know what to do with boys! Ha! But Greyson has rocked our world & we LOVE that he has brought a little bit of BLUE into this all pink family! And today, Rachael just found out what baby #2 is going to be! Are we going to add a little bit more blue in this sea of pink or are we going to add more Barbies, pink baby dolls & princess costumes into the mix?! Once R gives me the ok, I cannot wait to reveal the big news! And I cannot wait to meet niece/nephew #6 this Spring!
