The End Of Soccer Season

It's hard to believe that the soccer season has come to an end.  I feel like we just started a new season!  Today was both of the girls' last soccer game.  I'd be lying if I said I was sad to see it end.  The last couple of weeks we've spent practices & games in the freezing cold & rain, so all of us parents were thrilled that today was the last day!  Ha!

Ashby's game was spent in the rain.  It was freezing & we were all hoping the game would go in fast forward so we could all get back to our warm cars.  The poor kids' hands were freezing & they were drenched.  Luckily about half way through the game the rain let up & the kids were able to finish their last game in somewhat decent weather.  And they were thrilled at the end of the game when we had a yummy breakfast of doughnuts, juice, yogurt & fruit awaiting them to celebrate the end of a fun season!

By the grace of God, the sun came out for Kennedy's game.  Unfortunately, Ashby was frozen by then & needed to get in the car to warm up, so I wasn't able to see any of Kennedy's game.  Marc said she did great though & had fun.  Kennedy is by far the smallest child on any of the teams, though, so she has a hard time keeping up with a lot of them.  That doesn't keep her from trying her hardest (most games) and doing her best.  And that is all we can & will ever ask for!

With the nasty weather, I think it is safe to say that Marc & I are happy to see the soccer season come to an end.  We will gladly go back to indoor swim lessons until the weather warms back up again in the Spring when we'll start another fun soccer season!  The girls love soccer & are excited to play next season!
