Thursday we were back at it. Refreshed after relaxing (and sleeping a lot) on Wednesday, and ready for a fun filled day!
We woke up early, worked out & had a yummy breakfast. And then it was off to the beach & pool until our excursion in the afternoon. At the beach, Marc fell in love with body surfing & stayed out in the ocean for well over an hour.
Unfortunately the weather was not the best. Very overcast & we got rained on a couple of times, but what I love about rain in the Dominican Republic is that it down pours for 10 minutes & then it is over. Not the steady drizzle that we get back at home in Washington.
At one point when we were in the pool, it started to pour. We ran under the covered bar, ate a few nachos, and within 10 minutes we were back at the pool. Love how the nasty weather was over & done with within minutes!

We met up in the lobby around 2:30 pm for our Bavaro Splash excursion. The excursion was to include some snorkeling, a little snuba, and riding around in a 2-person speed boat. Marc & I were super excited for an afternoon of fun!
My mother-in-law, Connie, was very worried about us coming to the DR. She was worried we would get kidnapped or killed by pirates. So when we came across this pirate ship, we HAD to get a picture of it! We are happy to say that we were able to fend off the pirates with ease. :)
The speed boat ride & snorkeling was super fun. Snuba? Not so much. At least for me. I felt so claustrophobic & like I couldn't catch my breath under the water. I'm proud that I conquered a huge fear & did it, but as soon as they took my picture on the ocean floor, I was back up to the boat pronto! But Marc LOVED it! So much so that he said he could see himself getting scuba certified!
We didn't get back to our hotel until 7:00 pm & were starving! So we quickly showered & got ready for dinner. We decided to celebrate our 8th anniversary a few days early, and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Caio Italian restaurant.
After dinner we enjoyed some ice cream, a yummy dessert we partook in every night we have been here. It is seriously the best ice cream! So sad we cannot bring it back with us to the US!
And then we walked around for a bit, watched a little of the NBA Finals, and came across this car!
Yep, just one of Madonna's cars that she used at the Grammy Awards in 2001. And the license plate said 'Snatch'd'. Pretty fitting for Madonna, if I do say so myself!
Another wonderful day in Punta Cana! This has seriously been an amazing trip & we are so sad that it is quickly coming to an end.
