Date Night

Actually it was more like a Date Day and Night!

Our sweet neighbors across the street invited us to go to a Seattle Mariner's game yesterday & Marc and I jumped at the chance to go.  We have lived in WA for almost 5 years & have yet to make it to a baseball game.  So we were excited to experience our first Mariner's game with our friends, Farrah & Mike!

The game wasn't until 7:00 pm, but since it was in Seattle (an hour away) & we wanted to avoid rush hour traffic, we ended up leaving the house around 2:00 pm.

We got to the park rather early, like 3 1/2 hours early, so we wandered around & ended up a F.X. McRory's for some drinks & appetizers.  It was so nice to just sit back, relax & enjoy an uninterrupted conversation with our friends.  They have a 3 1/2 year old daughter too, so I think they enjoyed it too!  Ha!

After about an hour or so, we headed back to the stadium where Mike gave us the grand tour.  He is a park rat & has been coming to the stadium since he was a young boy, so he gave us all sorts of fun tidbits & information about the team & the field.  He also showed us all of the favorite hot spots to eat at.

And that we did!  During the game I got my all time favorite stadium food!  Nachos!!!  Not the least bit healthy for you but oh so delicious!

We had awesome seats for the game!  5th row back, behind the visitors dugout.  It was cool to be so up close & personal with the team.  Doesn't get any better than that!

One of the most exciting parts of the game happened in the first inning!  The second batter up hit a foul ball & who caught it?!  Marc!!!  He was super excited to catch the ball but right after the catch he said 'man, that really hurt my hand!'  Ha!  He said his hand stung for the next two innings, but you couldn't tell from the big ole' smile on his face!

Unfortunately, the Mariner's did not fare well at the game.  By the 7th inning they were down 6-1, and at that point we decided to call it a night.  It was almost 10:00 pm & we had a long drive home.  Mike followed the rest of the game on his phone & the final score of the game was 6-2.  Yep, it was a good thing we left when we did.

While it was disappointing to see them lose, we thoroughly enjoyed our day (and night) & our first Mariner's game!

Thank you, Farrah & Mike, for inviting us to the game!  We had a great time with you guys & will definitely have to do it again soon!
