Ashby went to the dentist today & had her teeth cleaned. Her cleaning this past summer went very well so I had high hopes for this visit as well. Baby girl did not disappoint! She was chatty Cathy with the dental hygienist, making her laugh throughout the cleaning. At one point when Miss Melissa was rinsing Ashby's mouth out with water, Ashby declared that the water was very refreshing. Yes, my 3-year old used that word. The hygienist cracked up laughing, as did her mama. I have no idea where she learned that word from. My silly girl!
After a thorough cleaning & fluoride, Miss Melissa asked if we wanted to try x-rays with Ashby. I thought why not?! She did so well with her cleaning, that I was pretty sure she would do well with the x-rays too. Even though this was her first time getting x-rays, she was a pro! She held still, followed directions, and Miss Melissa was able to get awesome pictures of Ashby's mouth.
After x-rays, Dr. Ruder came in & took a look at her teeth. He said they looked perfect, there were no sugar bugs (cavities) & her x-rays looked wonderful. Yay! He told us to keep doing what we are doing and to come back again in 6 months.
I think Miss Melissa enjoyed her appointment with Ashby because she gave her not one, but TWO! tokens for the prize machine. She kept saying what a cutie Ashby was and how well she did during her cleaning. She also said she wished all of her patients were just like Ashby. *Insert proud mommy moment*
Great job Ashby Grace! Mama was so proud of you today & you were such a big girl at the dentist! Yay for no sugar bugs!
