Backyard Circus

Last night was Sparkleberry's Backyard Circus.  All of the students from the Tuesday/Thursday (both morning & afternoon) class performed for their friends & families.  There were tigers, dogs, princess ballerinas, a strongman, a zebra, a horse, lions, clowns, giraffes, monkeys & a frog.  Kennedy chose to be a ballerina, and boy, did she look cute!  She was decked out in pink from head to toe, and I was even able to get her hair into a little bun like a real ballerina!

And not to be outdone, little sister wanted to wear her tutu & put her hair in a bun too!  She wants to do EVERYTHING that big sister does!

Once we got there, they had a face painting station set up so the children could get their faces made up to match the person/animal they were for the circus.  Kennedy (and Ashby, of course) opted to paint hearts on their cheeks.

One of Kennedy's best friends, Claire, was also a princess ballerina.  They are inseparable & love playing together. Isn't Claire adorable??!!  She is the sweetest little girl.

The circus began with a parade of both classes.  Kennedy's class are the Sparklebugs & the afternoon class are the Sparklebees.

Next each group of performers came out & performed three different 'acts' that they had practiced.  Kennedy performed on the drums, jumped through the ring of fire, & showed off her muscles by lifting the very heavy weights.

Ashby got a little impatient during the performances, so she decided to play with all of the fun toys that were in the backyard.  She was in heaven!

After all of the performers had completed their acts, they finished the backyard circus with the 'Shake Hands with Friends' song.  They invited Sparkleberry students from past, present & future.  So of course Ashby joined the circle with Kennedy to sing the song, because in just 2 short years she will be a Sparklebug!  The teachers were all saying that Ashby was a mini-me of Kennedy. I'm not sure if that is a good thing OR a bad thing!!!

We had such a fun time at the Backyard Circus!  This is just one of the many reasons why I love Kennedy's preschool.  They are always so creative with the children & do so many fun activities with them.  It is hard to believe that Kennedy's last day of school is Thursday.  Her first year of preschool went by in a flash!  Tonight's circus was a wonderful way to end a great year at Sparkleberry Preschool.
