Mommy: It's nap time, Ashby. Let's head upstairs & go to bed.
Ashby: I'll just turn my back & try to ignore her. Maybe she'll forget I'm here & I won't have to go nap.
Mommy: Come on, Ashby Grace. We need to go upstairs & rest. We can go back to the park after nap time.
Ashby: But I don't want to rest! *insert pouty lip & tears in her eyes*
I think I'll just throw myself on the floor & show mommy how I really feel about having to go to bed now.
Mommy: Click! Click! Click!
Ashby: Why in the world are you taking pictures of me??!!
I said, STOP taking pictures of me! Can't you see I am in the middle of a tantrum??!!
Oh wait, what is sissy doing over there?
OK, I feel better now. I think I'm done having a fit. But I still don't like that you are making me take a nap. See this glare??!! I'll show you!
Alright, you win. I'm tired & ready to take a nap now.
Let's take off my jacket & go to bed.
And there you have it! One, of many, tantrums that we get to experience on a daily basis. This is all so new to us. Kennedy never did this when she was two. Sure, she would throw little fits here & there about something she didn't like or agree with, but she never threw tantrums like Ashby does. We used to say that we couldn't believe people used the term 'terrible two's' for 2-year olds (we have thought 3's & 4's are way worse with her!). But Ashby has totally changed our minds. She is definitely in the terrible two's! And we cannot wait to get out of it!!! 8 more (long!) months & counting.....

Oh, do I ever hear you! Love your captions. :) Maybe Ashby's just getting it out of her system, and 3's and 4's will be a breeze!
ReplyDeleteHow can you be mad at that face?!
