In light of the nice weather, we got into 'spring cleaning' mode. We got so much work done this weekend, both inside & out.
Our first task was to pull weeds. Our backyard was a mess. Here is what our garden looked like before we started. Disgusting!
Sporting my new gardening gloves! I look a little too excited to be pulling weeds!
Between the back yard & front yard we collected 3 full grocery bags full of weeds! With all of the rain we get between Fall & Spring, we get an insane amount of weeds.
And here is our garden area after. Much better & almost ready to start planting our vegetable garden.
This is what our grass look likes 5 weeks after our lawn makeover. I, personally, cannot believe that it hasn't grown more. But Marc says, 'you need rain AND sun for the grass to grow', and we certainly haven't had much sun in the last month. So hopefully as the weather continues to get nicer, the grass will start filling in a little better. We've also called the lawn guys to have them come take a look at our lawn & make sure it is growing appropriately.
Marc was also able to power wash the back porch. The power washer was his birthday gift & he came inside today saying it was the worst birthday present ever. He was totally joking but he was out there for an hour & a half power washing and came in pretty dirty from all the nastiness splashing on him while he was cleaning. I still think he had fun using his new 'man toy'. He's got on some pretty sexy boots, don't you think??!!
Also on the agenda was washing & detailing our cars. We only got Marc's washed, but his was the most important one to do because we wanted to get it up for sale on Craigslist (he got a company car for work). Isn't it amazing how good a car looks after having a good detail & wash??!! It almost doesn't even look like the same car!
Inside, I also got a ton of work done. It felt so good to have the windows open, getting rid of 'winter bugs' out of our house. The fresh air & cool breeze felt so good coming through the windows!I was able to get all of the bathrooms clean & I also got caught up on all the laundry. That rarely happens in our house! Between my clothes, Marc's clothes, the girls' clothes, towels & sheets, I always feel like there is at least one laundry basket overflowing with dirty laundry. And there is almost always clean clothes piled high on top of the washer & dryer. But not today! I was finally able to look into a clean & empty laundry room! Such a great feeling!
As you can see, we had two very busy days. By the time the girls went to bed, we were both exhausted. But it felt good to get so much done around the house & have a productive weekend.
And then to see that Osama bin Laden was killed! Praise God! What a fantastic way to end the weekend!
Happy Monday!

i'm tired listening to you... but i'm sure it felt good to get that much done..
