We started swimming lessons for Kennedy in June 2010. To say that she progressed S.L.O.W.L.Y is a huge understatement. She was very nervous to put her face in the water, dunk her head under & pretty much do anything the instructor wanted her to do. But we forged on because Marc & I feel that learning how to swim is one of the most important things Kennedy (and Ashby) will do.
At one point Marc bribed Kennedy with goggles. You may remember this post from March. Oh my goodness, those goggles have been a MIRACLE! She has progressed soo much since she started wearing those pink goggles. She now LOVES going to swimming lessons, can't wait to do bobs under water, loves jumping in the pool & getting her face wet, and always tells the instructor she wants to swim 'all by myself'. While she isn't quite ready to swim alone, she has definitely improved & is getting one step closer to swimming all by herself across the pool.
And I am proud to say that this past Saturday Kennedy graduated from her Pike/Super Pike class & is now a STARFISH! I think I was more excited than Kennedy when she got her report card & it showed that she progressed to the next level. Woohoo!
And you better believe we celebrated after class! We called daddy, grandpa & grandma, and papa & grammy to tell them the exciting news. And then we picked up her favorite meal for lunch....McDonald's!
I am so proud of Kennedy! She has worked so hard & I cannot wait to see her continued progress in the Starfish class, as well as future classes. And who knows maybe the 2024 Olympics will be in her future! :)

I don't know, the equestrian events are also in the summer olympics and unless she goes for the cross country she won't have to worry about water!! Can you say Pony? I knew you could :-)
