Countdown to the New School Year!

It's hard to believe that the girls start school in just 4 short days!  That is almost a month earlier than when WA schools start.  I feel bad that they are getting a month less of Summer, but this also means that they will be getting out of school next year before Memorial Day.

The girls & I have been busy getting ready for the 1st day of school.  We went school supply shopping, picked out new shoes & also ordered their new uniforms!

The girls are going to a private school where they require uniforms.  And I am so excited about that!  No more fighting about what they are going to wear each morning.  Hallelujah!

As you can see from the above picture, the original sizes I ordered (size 4 & 6) were way too big on the girls.  So Kennedy took Ashby's size 4 & I ordered Ashby a size 2.  Such little peanuts!

The girls also got new school hair cuts!  Marc has always said he'd love for the girls to get bobs, so this morning we took the plunge & the girls each got 4-5" cut off their hair!

Don't they look completely different?!  And so much older?  I love how their new haircuts turned out & so do the girls.  It's going to be so much easier to wash & style, and so much less hair in this hot Texas heat!

New state, new house, new school, new haircuts.  Everything is NEW for our family this past month!

Tomorrow the girls have Eagle Expo at their school where they will meet their new teachers & Marc and I will have a chance to check out other community involvement opportunities for the year.  I'm really looking forward to meeting the staff, making new friends & getting involved in the girls' school this coming year!

  2. Love their new haircuts! I always think Raya looks so cute in a bob---unfortunately Lee prefers long hair so we are trying that for now. Not sure how much longer before I chop it off again though haha :-)

Schools start Tuesday here...but preschool for Raya doesn't start until the 21st...she's excited!
