Kennedy has never had the best handwriting. I think most times she just gets in a hurry & rushes through the whole writing process. But recently, I have really noticed quite an improvement in her writing skills.
She has gone from this, written a couple of months ago.
To this, just written this past week.
Much improved! Perhaps it is because she writes on lined paper at school. Actually, I'm positive that is what it is. I really should invest in some lined paper at home. I've noticed, that on this paper, there are far less mess ups & scratch outs. Could be the paper, or could be because she is at school & knows that her teacher, Mrs. Moses, is grading her penmanship. Whatever the case may be, I am very proud of her much improved handwriting!
Side note. They are also teaching the kids cursive at her school. D'nealian is still the preferred method of handwriting, but I am super impressed to see my almost 6-year old start to learn cursive!
She brought this picture home with her from school the other day. She was telling me all about her picture & then proudly told me that Jesus died on the cross on her birthday. Confused I asked her to explain herself a bit more. Well her 6th birthday is next Thursday, March 28th and that happens to be Holy Thursday this year. So in her mind, Jesus died on the cross on her birthday. Ha! I love how her little mind works! We did have to correct her, though, and let her know that Good Friday (Daddy's Birthday) is the day that Jesus died on the cross. Oops. And in case you cannot tell, that is Jesus on the middle cross in her picture. Professional artist she is not! :)
And tomorrow she recites a Bible verse during her school chapel. Ashby & I are going, and will be sure to capture the big moment on video!

Wow! That IS an improvement! It's great :) And that picture is adorable.
