Special Surprise

Marc was out of town all last week.  For the girls, that can go either one of two ways.  They are angels.  Or terrible.  Rarely ever anything in between.  And I can usually tell how the week is going to be within the first 12 hours of Marc being gone.

Every time Marc travels for longer than 2-3 days, I tell Kennedy that she can be my 'Assistant Boss'.  The title really doesn't mean anything, but to her I emphasize the importance of her job.  Being the Assistant Boss means that she is going to be a super good listener, help me with Ashby & other responsibilities around the house (i.e. cleaning up the play room, taking her dishes to the sink, etc), & to be on her best behavior while Daddy is away.

Unfortunately, nine times out of ten she loses her title a day after Marc leaves.  It's usually for whining, arguing, fighting with her sister, or some other fun behavior.

But I am proud to say that my Kennedy Rae was my Assistant Boss the entire time Marc was away last week!  She was a super good listener, well mannered & got along great with Ashby!  And I was equally impressed that Ashby Grace was just as well behaved!  There was no whining, crying, or tantrums from my baby girl.  Hallelujah!  It makes for a much easier week while Marc is away.

So Friday after school I took the girls for a special surprise.

I took them to their all time favorite spot...the nail salon!  We don't go there very often because their paint, especially their nails, falls off within days hours, but I love to take them there for very special occasions.  Like this particular day.

The girls love picking out their polish.  Usually one color for their toes & another color for their fingers.  And then they always ask Tammy, the owner of the salon, to draw flowers on each of their fingers.  The colors are usually tacky & do not match, but they love it & it makes them feel special, and that is what it is all about.  Spending special time with both of the girls & letting them know how proud of them I am, and how much I appreciate their good behavior while Marc was out of town.

Thank you girls for being excellent while Daddy was away! I was so proud of your behavior & your listening skills throughout the week and I especially loved how well the two of you played together & got along.  Thank you for spending the afternoon with me & for being the BEST little girls a Mama could ask for!  I love you x 112!
