A Spectacular Sunday!

I was gone all day yesterday at a Scentsy event, so I was super excited to be able to spend the entire day today with Marc & the girls.  No work, no chores, no interruptions.  Just me & my little family.

We started the day at church & then headed downtown to the Farmer's Market.  There, we enjoyed walking around & checking out all of the yummy fruits & vegetables, as well as the beautiful flowers, they were selling.  We didn't end up getting anything but the girls did get their face painted.  Every time we go down there they either get a balloon animal made or their face painted.  Today, it was all about the paint!

From there we headed to Costco to get some much needed household items.  We also enjoyed some delicious samples too.  The girls declared that today's samples were the best they have ever had.  They sure are easy to please!  Ha!

We then headed home for lunch & then for some play time outside before rest time.  During rest time Mama worked out & I'm not sure what Daddy did.  It was awfully quiet down there so I'm assuming he took a little cat nap.

After rest time, a work buddy of Marc's was heading back home from Seattle, so he & his girlfriend stopped by for bit.  It was nice to finally meet the both of them in person & the girls fell in love with Mr. Alex.  For the next hour, he was their little playmate & they had all sorts of fun with him.  Ashby actually pleaded 'please don't go' when he said they needed to head back home to Oregon.  They were a super sweet couple & we will definitely be seeing them again very soon!

Marc & I tried to find a babysitter so we could go out on a date tonight, but none of our babysitters were available, so we decided to make it a family date night!  And where better else to go on a date than to Red Robin?  The girls were thrilled when they heard where we were heading & could not wait to see the big red bird!

It was more outside play time when we got back from dinner.  Man, we are LOVING this beautiful Summer weather we have been having!  Lots & lots of sun!  Around 6:30 pm, though, we headed in for baths as neither of the girls took a nap today.

Ashby had an exciting night tonight as she finally learned how to not swallow her toothpaste!  She was so excited to finally be able to spit her toothpaste out in the sink & now she gets to have 'big kid' toothpaste & mouthwash!  Such a big girl!

And when the girls were tucked into bed, Mama headed out for a little treat!  Tonight, we got a Rollo McFlurry from McDonald's.  Oh my word, have you all ever had one of those?  I think I just found my new favorite McFlurry!  It was to die for!!!

A super funny thing happened though while Marc & I were enjoying our yummy ice cream.  Kennedy got out of bed & came down to ask us a question.  She stopped dead in her tracks on the stairs & asked what we were eating!  And I wish someone could have gotten a picture of Marc & me.  I'm positive we looked like we were caught with our hand in the cookie jar & were about to get into trouble by our parents!  We were busted by our 5-year old!  Ha!

And now, we are enjoying the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics.  I've LOVED the Summer Olympics & am super sad to see them come to an end.

It was an awesome day with the family & I'm said to see it come to an end.

  1. Funny I went Saturday night thru McDonalds drive thru and got a McFlurry - Oreo. I ate it in the car. Sometimes I need a little treat before I get home.
