Saying Farewell To My Mid-Day Break

While I was at the Scentsy Convention, my husband decided to not have Ashby nap.  At all.  As in not once during the 4 days that I was gone.  And then when I came home we were out of town for my nephew's birthday party, so that was another 2 days without naps.

6 days without naps for my baby girl.

So what do you think happened yesterday when I tried to get Ashby Grace to nap?

You guessed it.  She wasn't having it.  Wanted nothing to do with a nap & wanted to play in her room/play room like she had been doing for the past week.

So just like that, naps are done.

Gone are the days of my nice 2-hour break in the early afternoon.

Gone are the days of quiet time where I can get work done.

Now?  I'm a referee trying to get the girls to get along, play quietly (or better yet, by themselves) upstairs while I try & get some work done.

It hasn't been the most productive two days, but I'm hoping praying as the newness of no naps fade, we will all get back into a nice routine.  2 hours of quiet time, where mama can actually be productive.  Fingers, toes & everything else crossed that eventually happens.

One positive?  She goes down without a peep at 7:00 pm, versus the 8:30 pm bedtime she had when she was taking a nap. And then there was usually another 1/2 of fussing & calling our names until she finally fell asleep. I do appreciate the easy bed time routine now.

But I'm still sad to see nap time go away.  Forever.  As in, never again.

It's a very sad end to an {nap} era.

It's a good thing she is so freaking cute! :)

  2. When I worked in day care I always used to get sad when some of the kids eventually stopped napping. Because then they woke everyone else up. And it could NEVER be the kids who would play totally quiet during nap, nope only the loud ones! Haha. Good luck!
