Yesterday was my 90th day of P90X, so I can officially say that I FINISHED the program! Woohoo!
The program, overall, was wonderful! It really helped me get back into working out hard. Gone are the days of reading a magazine on the elliptical & calling it a workout. Before having the girls I could get away with that & still maintain my weight. But that was over 5 years ago. Thanks to getting older, a slower metabolism, coupled with extra belly fat added with each pregnancy, I now have realized I need to make my workouts count, as well as eat a more balanced diet. P90X has been a great program for that.
With that being said, here are my overall thoughts about the program:
Pros: What I liked most about this program is that anybody can do P90X. Young or old, exercise fanatic or someone just getting into exercising, anybody & everybody can do this program. It is nice because you can adjust your weights as well as your reps, based on your fitness level.
Cons: I really didn't feel like I got a good cardiovascular workout. While the strength training was wonderful, the cardio workouts were not. That is why I incorporated Insanity workouts in place of the P90X cardio workouts throughout the course of the program. Also, the yoga workout was ridiculously long. 92 minutes to be exact. As a busy mom of two, I just don't have time to do a workout that takes an hour & a half. And one other thing that I was not a fan of in P90X was the host, Tony Horton. He was so cheesy & told the most annoying jokes, that after awhile I had to just put the video on mute & do the workouts that way. If not, I don't think I would have been able to finish the program. He was that bad.
Other than that, though, I am super glad I did the program & would definitely recommend it anybody looking to lose weight and/or get in better shape.

And now, without further ado, here are my Before & After pictures!

I am proud to say that I lost 2 pounds and 5.5 inches!!!
While that may not seem like much to some, I am very proud of what I have accomplished. I am naturally a petite person, so there is no way I could lose 26 pounds & 17 inches (like Marc did). But the 5 1/2 inches & 2 pounds I did lose, I can definitely see a difference in the above pictures & when I look at myself in the mirror.
Am I at my goal & where I want to be in terms of weight & body composition?
Nope.
But I am a work in progress & am proud of where I've come in just 90 days!
And so the journey continues.
Up next?
Insanity!!!!
