What was supposed to be a very busy day today, turned out to be a very lazy one. I think it was just what all of us needed. The girls are fighting a cold & needed the extra sleep this morning, as did I. I fell asleep after 9 pm last night & didn't wake up until almost 8 am this morning. Can we say tired?! Swim lessons were cancelled last minute as the teacher had to go into work & I cancelled going to the birthday party myself because not only are the girls a little sick, but it was raining all day today & the party was outside at a park. Um, no thank you. Didn't feel like sitting around in the rain, trying to stay dry, hoping the girls' cold didn't turn into something worse. So we stayed home all day. And it was so nice.
The girls stayed in their pajamas until lunch time & I didn't get ready until after lunch. Scratch that. I showered & blew dry my hair after lunch, and then figured what the heck, and climbed back into my pajamas. Why get fully ready when you intend to stay home all day?!
Poor Ashby has a nasty boo boo under her nose from wiping it so much. I've yet to figure out why it is just under her right nostril, when we've been continuously wiping boogers out of both nostrils, but for some reason the irritation is just under the right one. Aquaphor seems to be helping but it is definitely irritated & bothering her. My poor baby.
After rest time, I gently told Kennedy we would not be going to her friend's birthday party. Surprisingly, there were not many tears. It may have been, though, because I promised her we could make homemade pizzas & pudding tonight for dinner. I definitely know the way to her heart. :)
My pizza makers did an excellent job with their pizzas. Some may call their pizzas boring, but they thoroughly enjoyed their cheese only pizzas. Oh, and so did Mama!
And the girls loved their vanilla pudding for dessert too. I think this next picture pretty much sums up how they both felt about it!
Yep! Finger lickin', or should I say, SPOON lickin' good!
Of course the day did not all go smoothly. We've kind of been on a bad run lately with fighting, back talk & sassiness. Oh & not listening. I joked to Marc tonight I must have a voice that only dogs can hear or something. Because I swear that the girls do not hear me when I tell them to do (or not do) something. I often have to repeat myself multiple times & it gets to be very wearing at times. Praying that this naughty behavior passes soon & they go back to being my good listeners & sweet little girls.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
