Soccer Star

Kennedy started Spring soccer season last week.  Her friend is on the team & her friend's mom is the coach, so they asked if Kennedy wanted to sign up too.  But since it was after the registration deadline, they made me assistant coach so they could squeeze Kennedy onto the team.  Ha!  Really, I am just the team mom & in charge of organizing the snack schedule, but I like the sound of being the assistant coach...even if I've never played a day of soccer in my life!

This is Kennedy's friend, Claire.  Isn't she adorable?  The girls are only 6 months a part, but thanks to baby girl inheriting mom's short stature, Kennedy looks like she could be Claire's little sister!  She is such a good friend to Kennedy, and we are going to miss her & her family when they move this summer. 

Kennedy likes soccer.  She has fun running around with her friends & kicking the ball around.  But she isn't very aggressive.  The ball could be right at her feet, and she would let the other kids get to the ball first.  What can I say?!  She just loves to share! :) 

But she has fun, and that's all that really matters.  She may not be the next Mia Hamm, but she is learning how to be a team player & in life that is much more important than if she can kick, dribble & pass a ball.  

And Ashby cannot wait until next year when she gets to play!  Sitting on the side cheering on sissy is great, but playing would be MUCH more fun!
