A Little Better!

Day 2 of swim lessons was today.  If you missed Day 1's eventful lesson, you can read about it here.  All day yesterday & this morning we talked about how fun swimming was, how Teacher Sophia wants to teach Ashby how to swim, how the teacher & mommy would never let anything happen to her, yada, yada, yada.  She seemed to agree with everything I was saying & even said she wasn't going to cry today.

And wouldn't you know it, she did do MUCH better!  The moment that the lesson started, I went upstairs to watch on the observation deck.  Sophia said that it would be best if I wasn't 'right there' & as easily accessible to Ashby.  She cried a little bit but not near as bad as on Tuesday.  She still clung to Sophia for dear life, but she did kick her feet a little bit in the water and didn't seem as scared as she did on her first day.  I would call that a HUGE success!

And proof that it wasn't all tears today, I got a great big smile from her when swim lessons were over!  I hope that each lesson she continues to get more comfortable in the water & starts to enjoy her time with Teacher Sophia.
