Proud Papa!

I just LOVE these pictures that Rachael sent of Brian & Greyson!  He is just beaming!  You can tell he is loving every.single.minute holding Greyson!!!  It just melts my heart when I see these pictures!  Such a proud daddy!

A lot of people have been emailing, calling & texting me asking for an update on Rachael & Greyson, so I just thought I'd do an update on the blog. :)

Rachael is doing well!  She finally got to go home yesterday & I bet she LOVED sleeping in her own bed last night!  She said she was pretty sore, though.  She really needs to watch that she doesn't overdo it as it can really impede her recovery.  Her blood pressure is holding steady, so it looks like the new medication regime (3x per day) seems to be doing the job.  And her liver enzyme levels continue to drop.  Praise God!  She goes back to the doctor next week for a follow up regarding her blood pressure, liver enzyme levels & kidneys.  And she was happy to report yesterday that her milk has come in, so she has lots of yummy food for Greyson when he is ready to eat again!  Yay!

Brian & Rachael have been doing kangaroo care with Greyson twice a day, for a couple of hours at a time.  They love snuggling with him, and I'm pretty sure Greyson loves having mommy & daddy close to him too!

Greyson is doing great too! He is now on the lowest level of CPAP & they are hoping to have him off of it completely in the next week or so.  He still has jaundice but his levels are dropping so they hope to have him off of the blanket soon.  As I mentioned earlier, he wasn't tolerating the BM very well so they inserted a PICC line to give him the nutrition he needs to grow big & strong.  Hopefully as he grows a little more & his digestive tract matures, he can go back to getting mommy's BM.  Rachael said yesterday his weight was 3 lbs 6 oz.  It is quite normal for babies to lose weight after birth, so hopefully in the next day or so he starts packing on the pounds. :)

And I just LOVE this video of Greyson!  He opened his eyes for the FIRST TIME!  It makes me smile every time I watch it!
