Call me naive, but I just never in a million years thought that this would happen. I guess I just lived in my own 'happy place' and thought my family & friends would read my blog and enjoy pictures of my girls. I, personally, did not think the pictures that I posted of Ashby PTing were inappropriate. Who knows, maybe some people did but I did not. And now to know that certain people used them for their own personal pleasure. Ugh. It disgusts me.
Unfortunately now I've learned that there are many sick & twisted people in this world that like to look at these types of pictures. It angers, saddens, and infuriates me. And there is really nothing that I can do to stop these nasty people from doing these disgusting things. So, I have & am going to be making some changes to my blog to protect me & my family.
* I've already taken all of the PTing posts off of the blog. At the end of the year when I turn it into a book, I'll add them back in but for now they are gone.
* I no longer let search engines find my blog. I had no idea that I even had this option, but under settings I put a big, fat NO when asked this question. Search engines will be instructed NOT to crawl it....i.e., if some nasty person searches 'little girl in panties' my blog will no longer pull up. Thank goodness!
* Although watermarking will not protect sick people from looking at my pictures, I am still looking into doing this will all of my photos.
* And finally, I am very much considering making my blog private. I have no idea how to do this & what steps to take, but I think for the safety of my family & girls, this is the safest way to go. When I get it all figured out, I will be sure to let everyone know and you can send me your email address if you'd like to be invited.
This blog was created as a memory book for me, my family & my friends. It is a way to document our life, the crazy things my girls say & do, and to remember precious milestones (like PTing). It also encourages me to take more pictures! They are changing everyday & I want to make sure that over the years I can look back at my 'babies' and see them at every step & at every age. These are precious moments that I never want to forget!
And I WILL NOT let these nasty individuals effect my life or the way that I blog.

Oh Cuz, I'm so sorry! What a bunch of freakin perverts! It's sad that you have to worry about this kind of stuff, but apparently, we do! My stomach turns, with yours, at the thought of people getting off on ANYTHING to do with kids! ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're taking action for your family, but I hate that you HAVE to. Taking your blog of of search engines is a great idea. For the record, I did not see anything inappropriate about your PTing posts. You write about your family and their experiences. That was one of them. Big hugs to you!

Finally playing blog catch-up, and I'm so saddened and sickened by this situation! It prompted me to look at my own blog stats, and there was something that made me a little suspicious, too.
